Welcome to DK Railings – a journey of success, all thanks to two brothers with a vision. It all began with a phone call that changed their lives. Dax, the older brother, had had enough of the service industry and decided it was time for something new. After putting in 5 years installing railings as a subcontractor, he realized there was an opportunity to grow in the business and asked his younger brother Kaid, “You want to install railings?”
That conversation set the wheels in motion!
Determined to make their business a reality, Kaid traded in his beloved charger for a reliable business truck. With a serious commitment to their venture, they wasted no time and incorporated the business right away. Dax and Kaid’s relentless drive transformed them into more than just a small subcontracting company. Armed with a small laptop and a dollar store plastic binder, their truck became their business.
As they set out to conquer the railing industry, they were driven by a sense of urgency, always aiming to raise the bar. Double-digit growth was the norm, year after year. They embraced the mentality of “Think it, do it,” always moving forward, and it paid off. Soon, they expanded their team and moved into a facility that truly reflected their growing success.
It wasn’t just about business, though. Dax and Kaid recognized the importance of fun and great service. Their mission was to ensure that every interaction with DK Railings was a memorable one. They hired childhood friends, Jeff and Blair, who shared their enthusiasm for the business and its core values.
Today, DK Railings stands as a testament to their journey. The business has grown beyond their wildest dreams, but their commitment to having fun, creating great experiences , and crafting amazing masterpieces remains unchanged. A close personal friend and brother of ours who wanted to come and be a part of our DKR team. How could we possibly refuse. Jeff has over 30 years of sale’s experience and training. Passionate about providing excellent service to our existing clientele and any new customers are more than welcome. He truly lives that extra mile philosophy we promote here at DKR. Properly able to manage any customer experience through thoughtful communication. A devoted father to two wonderful teenage boys and Boston beagle cross pup named Chappie. Husband to a very patient and beautiful wife. Jeff enjoys dirt biking, snowboarding, and a terrific cook.

With a proven Business Mind, great sense of entrepreneurship and love of working with people Blair is a valued member of our DKR Team. Blair has successfully started and sold his own companies over the last 20 years and is now found his new home amongst his close friends here at DK Railings. In addition to his life with DKR he also enjoys being the captain of his Rugby team the Priest Valley Vicars, snowboarding, wake surfing and spending time with family and friends. Blair will happily take care of all your railing questions, wants and needs to make certain you have the right railing system for you.
Richard, a native of the Okanagan region, is a proud father of five and takes immense pride in his work. He has a keen eye for precision and alignment. When he is not utilizing his skills as a railing installer, Richard enjoys the outdoors of the beautiful Okanagan area. His work ethic is rooted in working diligently to enjoy the fruits of his labor, engaging in activities like mountain and dirt biking during the summer and snowboarding and Timbersledding in the winter.
Ben Dugmore, a 21-year-old originally from Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, has a background in various sports, with rugby being one of his favorites. Many members of the DK Railings crew share a passion for rugby, and they draw valuable life lessons from their experiences on the field, applying these principles to their work.
Chad Gerow, a member of the Kitselas First Nation, was born and raised in Terrace, BC. With over 20 years of comprehensive construction experience spanning various trades, he recently joined the team at DK Railings as an installer. Chad finds DK to be one of the most enjoyable workplaces due to the prevailing positive mindset among colleagues.
